Second Bank of the United States: Historical Renovations
Originally erected in the 1790s, this building housed—literally—the nation’s second bank. Daniel J. Keating Company was engaged by the National Park Service to convert the structure into a portrait gallery displaying over one hundred Revolutionary and Federal portraits.
The project consisted of extensive interior and exterior renovations, including a new HVAC system, upgraded electrical service and distribution, new sprinklers, and extensive plaster and paint restoration.
