Founders Hall at Girard College in Philadelphia

Daniel J. Keating was selected as the general contractor for the extensive renovations at the historic Founders Hall at Girard College in Philadelphia. Girard College is an independent college prep boarding school in Philadelphia that opened in 1847 and was endowed from the fortune of Stephen Girard upon his death in 1831. At that time, he was the richest man in America and his endowment for Girard College was, up to that point, the largest private charitable donation in American History.

Founders Hall served as the school’s first classroom space, chapel and library and is considered one of the finest examples of Greek revival architecture in the US. The recently completed renovations preserve the historic uniqueness of Founders Hall while at the same time transforming the space so that it can be more efficiently used. We are honored to have been a part of revitalizing this National Historic Landmark.
