Daniel J. Keating was selected as the general contractor for the revitalization of the Johnny Sample Recreation Center at the historic Cobbs Creek in West Philadelphia. The existing recreation center, which includes a gymnasium and multipurpose rooms for educational purposes, has played an important role in the West Philadelphia community and now with the updated renovations, it will continue to benefit the community for generations to come.

The improvements to the center will include the following: partial demolition of the existing building, new construction of a two-story addition, renovation of existing basketball gym, site and building accessibility upgrades, new multi-purpose room for large gatherings, new flex space for meetings and small group activities, new fitness room, new kitchenette, new entrance, reception area, lobby with custom millwork, new roof, HVAC system, and interior lights.
