Villanova University: Bartley Hall Expansion and Renovation
Villanova University chose Daniel J. Keating Company to construct an addition and complete renovations to Bartley Hall, part of the University’s College of Commerce and Finance.
The project consisted of a 77,000 SF renovation to the building’s interior to improve the facility’s overall efficiency, energy performance, and functionality. A façade upgrade was included in the scope of work to align the building’s appearance with the existing campus structures. Also, a 50,000 SF addition was built to house a new kitchen and cafeteria, and features a new variable volume water and air handling system.

Bartley Hall now houses state-of-the-art classrooms with distributed computer networks, telecommunications, and video conferencing, as well as lecture halls, offices, cafeteria, and seminar and lounge areas. Phased construction allowed the majority of work to occur during summer recesses after the addition was completed.
This project won a 2003 International Illumination Design Award from the Philadelphia Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.
